Interesting, but I wish it was based on the animu as, to be completely honest, I thought the live-action film was so shite...

And I was wondering how that was even possible given the original subject matter.

I haven't read or watched death note, but the plot seemed to be to drawn out to be condensed into a film.
Still, Kyon makes a good kira.

I usually don't mind modifications or whatever (it's still important, but I'd be as objective as possible when considering it as an individual work), but the actual movie needs to be good...

Death Note live-action felt like a j-drama, but with CG.
